To Kohlton, this isn’t just a business. It’s home. Born and raised right here in Wisconsin, I’ve spent most of my life outdoors. Whether it’s on the Mississippi River, in the woods, or working the land. I take pride in helping local property owners improve and take back their land the right way.
Black Ridge was built on hard work, honesty, and a commitment to doing things right the first time. I understand what this land means to people. How I Got My Start
Before starting Black Ridge Forestry Mulching, I spent time working on the pipeline as well as on the road substation to substation with Transformer Solutions. There I built a strong foundation in hard work, safety, and operating equipment in demanding conditions.
That experience taught me how to handle real-world job sites, adapt to changing environments, and get the job done efficiently without cutting corners.
Coming from a construction background, I’ve always been hands-on and comfortable working with land, equipment, and physical projects. Over time, that naturally led me into forestry mulching.
Combining my experience with my passion for the outdoors and land management. I saw a real need around the La Crosse area for reliable, no-nonsense land clearing done the right way, and that’s what pushed me to start Black Ridge Forestry Mulching. Today, I bring that same work ethic, attention to detail, and jobsite experience to every property I work on.

We are fully licensed and insured, and operate with the proper CDL requirements to safely and legally transport equipment to your property. That means you can have confidence knowing your project is in capable, professional hands from start to finish.
